Sometimes, we have to kind of die inside in order to rise from our own ashes, said the comic book writer Gerard Way. And this article will kind of relate to that specific statement of him.
This passion project has been so quiet for 2 years now and in between, a lot has happened. There are few reasons involved but safe to say, conflicts on time and priorities are the main ones. I have simply been too busy and struggled deciding which to do first. There came the undergraduate thesis, the evaluation exam shortly a semester after, there came failures on the evals hence college days extensions, regular day job and a lot more in between. Blogging became one of those that drifted away as I let other things take priority. But to be frank, I was not sorry I let this rest for a while because in the first place, this was built as a passion project. Something I can do that would make me happy when I have extra time to waste on my sleeves and I’m just so happy to be back. Not quite sure whether this would be continuous or just this time of community quarantine. Nevertheless, I’m so happy I have something like this to go back to anytime.
New branding: Trip ni Menggay. If you’re an old reader on my not-so-messy website, you probably are aware of ADISON’s. This is just that same little corner on the web. Same niche, same tone and same purpose. Only that this time, I felt like I needed the change after moving on from that ADISON chapter of my life. Don’t get me wrong, that name will forever hold a very special place in my heart but this Trip ni Menggay just felt more liberating, reader friendly, easier to remember and more relatable (I hope).
The new design. Part of the delay of this relaunch is not knowing what design would best represent the whole idea. I always wanted this to be an eye-candy so I had some research done and finally found this Nettle theme from Etsy designed by Berenica. Calm, free flowing and organized in contrast to my previous edgy but reserved style. Kinda tricky but I hope you liked it.
Moving forward, my goal is still the same. To continue what I have started in this little corner on the web. Write articles about what I see fit the niche but most importantly to create something that I hope would inspire you and give you ideas and advice from topics I feel most passionate about. There is still some work to do but no worries, drafts are already on its way and this site will always, always be a work-in-progress hence some tweaking will be done along the way so please bear with me and let me know if you see any issues or you have any suggestions site or content wise.
