Every once in a while, we get the urge to eat as much as our stomach can accommodate because of so many reasons making eat-all-you-can and unlimited foods sounds like music to our ears. And the best way to enjoy an endless feast that would allow you to achieve your ideal level of busog is to head over to eat-all-you-can buffets or restaurants.
But then again, most of the buffets we have in Metro Manila are located either in hotels, malls or sometimes an existing promos of some prime restaurants which charge an approximately P1,000 or a hundred less. It may be appealing to those who wants to achieve their ideal level of busog with good food and experience but might not be for budget conscious people like me. Lol.
Earlier this September, I was invited to feast in a restaurant that offers unlimited food and being a foodie that I am, I said yes in a blink. Thinking that it would only be just the bulalo and some closely similar dishes as the restaurant's name suggests, I was surprised when I learned of their food offerings. And the best part of it? It’s very budget friendly starting at only P299.
What we tried on their menu are their special bulalo, crabs which comes with variety of special dips, shrimps and different varieties of sisig like pork and squid and off course, the ultimate pang-kontra, the pineapple juice.
Personally, I don’t eat beef that much, a little taste of it and I’m done. But surprisingly, with Bulalord, I ate almost a bowl of it. I love how they prepared the dish. Meat were noticeably tender and well cooked, fresh vegies were cooked on a medium level and its soup really taste good. The magic of it, for not so beef lover like me, you won’t have a strong after taste of the beef.
Honestly, I don’t have much to say about crabs as I don’t eat this not because I don’t want to or I’m allergic to it but because I hate the fact that you have to exert so much effort onto it only to taste a bit. Haha! But according to my friends who ate with me here, the efforts were worth it. So to crab lovers, see for yourself, don’t forget to try this when you drop by to Bulalord and enjoy that mouth-watering crab meat.
If there’s one thing I love the most about sea foods, it’s the shrimp. I was actually able to finish three (3) servings of their buttered shrimp. Need I say more? Haha! But kidding aside, it was really good! Shrimp’s meat was cooked just well, juicy and so tasty. And believe me when I say it tastes best with their sinigang na hipon because of their well-done soup.
Another thing I love from this place is their sisig. They have the traditional pork sisig and their very own squid sisig. I’ve never tried nor heard of squid sisig prior to my visit to Bulalord Manila but that fact did not stop me from trying this as I also love pusit and tell you what, I was not disappointed.
Also, another specialty that they have is this set of four special sauce called Tartar, Diablo, Black Ginger Dip and Seasoned Vinegar which best partner with the crabs.
Lastly, upon request, they will provide you the ultimate pang-kontra against highblood, pineapple juice and some anti-allergy tablets. But then again, if you knew from the start that these food may affect you negatively, be responsible enough to know your limits. Bear in mind that “An ounce of prevention is better than a litre of cure.”
